Matt understands this first-hand. He is a graduate of Hume-Fogg High School, his oldest child just graduated from Hillsboro High School, and each of his six kids and step kids has attended MNPS for some or all of their schooling – except the youngest, who is only four, and she’ll start next year!
Every child – and every person – in Nashville is invested in the success of our schools.
Unfortunately, school funding has fallen as a percentage of Metro’s budget from 42% ten years ago to just 37% this year. We MUST do better. It’s not just about funding, we should adopt innovative approaches to education that help every child reach their full potential.
